| PASTOR BIOGRAPHY
Dwight McCormick II is a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the PC (USA). First and foremost he considers himself a child of God along with all of humanity. His calling into ministry has been centered on a passion for preaching, and a deeply rooted love of pastoral care for people both inside and outside of the church. Dwight is excited about serving a Covenant Network Congregation-the only one within the Presbytery of the Miami Valley. To learn more about what a Covenant Network Congregation is click here.

Dwight therefore is concerned about issues of the inclusive nature of the Grace of God. His theology is centered on the understanding that no one is excluded from the love of God for any reason-and that God calls all people to ministry both in the congregational setting as well as within the global Church.
Acknowledging that his human understanding is limited he relies on the enormity of God's love and the mysterious nature of the Divine to guide his life and ministry. He considers himself broken-but made whole through the mercy of Jesus Christ.
Dwight sees his ministry as an expression of his gratitude for being saved by Grace through faith in Christ Jesus. His deepest desire is to point others towards healing who have been hurt by a gospel that proclaims self righteousness, and legalism over and above the forgiving nature of Jesus. He does so through the use of humor as a part time stand up comic, and through his full time calling as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the PC (USA).
He began his call process in the Presbytery of West Virginia his home state at Highlawn Presbyterian Church of Huntington West Virginia. He credits Dr. Jack Haga (Highlawn's then pastor), and Reverends Bob and Beth Bondurant (campus ministers at Marshall University) for helping him discern the call into parish ministry.
In 1998, Dwight graduated from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary with his Master of Divinity degree after completing his undergraduate work at Marshall University in Huntington West Virginia in 1993-he received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Dwight has served on the Presbytery of West Virginia Youth Council, the Campus Ministry Committee at Marshall University, the Social Witness and Mission Committee in Transylvania Presbytery, the Evangelism and New Church Development Committee in the Transylvania Presbytery and the Executive Presbyter Search Committee in the Transylvania Presbytery.
For 9 years, Dwight has served in ministry as a full time solo pastor. The churches he has served include: Kenova Presbyterian Church Kenova West Virginia 1999-2002, Community Presbyterian Church of Bellefonte, Ashland Kentucky 2002-2007, and Northminster Presbyterian Church of Springfield Ohio 2007-present.
Dwight is married to his wonderfully talented and beautiful wife Sarah and they have two daughters Chloe and Phoebe. Sarah works full time as an optician in Springfield. They are VERY pleased to call Springfield Ohio their home. They see that their service here at Northminster Presbyterian Church and in the community is the place and time to which God has called them-to a welcoming and grace-filled congregation.
